Programmes Offered

At Mbeya Polytechnic College Tukuyu Campus we offers the following courses programmes;

Diploma in Agriculture Production (DAP)

This diploma allows the student to immediately enter the field of Production Agriculture. The students’ primary focus with this diploma is two-fold. The learner will either enter the workforce in direct support of production agriculture such as seeking employment at an elevator or working as an employee or entrepreneur in livestock and/or crop production.

Entry Requirements

An applicant must have one principal pass in science subjects and one subsidiary in his or her A-Level Combination and must have passed at least two (2)  of the following subjects; Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Agriculture with grade “D” in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education and any two other subjects which are not  religious. (Minimum qualification is two Science subjects,  one of which  must be Biology.)

Diploma in Livestock Production

It has been stated that as the population and income levels increase so does the demand for livestock and fisheries products increases as well, therefore there must be a deliberate effort to increase the production to meet these demands.

This programme will help you improve the health and production of livestock by providing greater understanding of the interaction of livestock with people and the environment. Learn how to implement control strategies by integrating your knowledge with the principles of epidemiology, economics and disease control within the context of management and infrastructure.

Natural Resources Management

This course intends to provide a unique opportunity to students who wish to develop their career in natural resource management. Candidates completing this course will be of great value to employers, introducing new skills and practices in the specialized areas covered by the graduate.

Entry Requirements

Possession of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or equivalent, with credit passes in five approved subjects, obtained prior to sitting for the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or equivalent; and

He/she has obtained at least two principal level passes in approved subjects – such as Geography, History, Biology, Economics, Agricultural Sciences and Chemistry, in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE)
